The Moncton Miracles have continued their roster revamp, signing 6-foot-9 center Tim Mitchell.

"When I found out I was playing for the Miracles, I was excited and grateful for the opportunity to play for the organization," said the Orlando native.

The big man played college hoops at Southeastern University, an NAIA school located in Lakeland, Florida. He earned all-defensive and second team all-conference accolades in his final two years in school. As a senior, he averaged 13.8 points, 10.6 rebounds, and a conference-best 2.9 blocks per game.

Mitchell enters his second professional basketball season, and he is coming off a 2015-16 stint with SG Sechtem 1971 in the Regionalliga West in Germany. He averaged a league-high 19.3 points, 8.5 rebounds, and 1.6 blocks per game. He also took home all-league honors from Eurobasket.com.

Despite a remarkable rookie campaign, Mitchell knows he will have to face tougher competition in the NBL Canada. However, he arrives in the league well-prepared.

"This offseason I've been in the weight room on a consistent basis and doing my conditioning on court and finding these steep hills to sprint up and down," he said. "I've been working on my craft and finding my rhythm for the consistent mid range and always working on new post moves."

Not only did Mitchell's talent bring him into the NBLC, but so did his connections. He will join the Miracles with Vincent Dillard and Hunter Williams, who he knows as "hard-workers" and "very solid basketball players."

Mitchell expects to bring energy and a strong work ethic to the table when he arrives in Moncton. Even with more than a month left until Boxing Day, he is ready for the season to begin.

He added, "I want to bring unity so we can win together and stay together through the season and make a run in the playoffs when the time comes."
