London Lightning sign Canadian journeyman Troy Gottselig

The London Lightning have signed Canadian power forward Troy
Gottselig, according to EuroBasket.
Gottselig, a 29-year-old power forward from Findlater, Sask.,
is joining the Lightning for his fifth season of professional basketball. He
has been a journeyman his entire career, playing for eight different teams in Canada, Luxembourg, Belgium, the Czech Republic, Slovakia and the U.S.
Gottselig, who played collegiately for Medicine Hat College
from 2005-07 and the University of Saskatchewan from 2007-09, most recently
played for Randers Cimbria in the Danish Basketligaen last season. The
six-foot-eight power forward had averaged 12.5 points per game and 7.1 rebounds
per game in 15 appearances, according to RealGM.
He also has some prior playing experience in the National
Basketball League of Canada, playing for the Island Storm - known as the Summerside Storm at the time - for eight games
during his first professional season in 2011-12. He had started one game for
the franchise.
Gottselig also founded and held a basketball camp for
secondary school student-athletes – the Troy Gottselig Elite Basketball ID and Exposure Camp – in Moose Jaw, Sask. last June.
The Lightning will play the Niagara River Lions to start
their regular season Dec. 26.
