Highlanders to host open tryouts

Have you ever wanted to play in the National Basketball League of Canada?

The Cape Breton Highlanders are giving local players that very chance tonight.

The NBL Canada expansion franchise is holding an open tryout at the YMCA of Cape Breton at 8 p.m. local time.

Highlanders head coach Dean Murray and president and general manager Tyrone Levingston will be in attendance, scouting for local talent.

The tryout comes as the team is finalizing its training camp roster.

Cape Breton will play their inaugural game Dec. 27 at Centre 200 against the Halifax Hurricanes.
