The Island Storm will be adding two new assistant coaches to their team's staff heading into training camp.

Reagh Vidito and Jeff Morrison will be joining head coach Joe Salerno on this bench this season, the team announced Tuesday.

The additions were made after four-year Island Storm assistant Mike Leslie was named head coach and general manager of the Halifax Hurricanes on Monday.

“We are excited about both the additions of Reagh and Jeff to our organization. It’s great to add two local names and faces to our bench, both of whom bring a different skill set to the table,” said Salerno in a statement.

Vidito is joining Salerno's staff after working with the team and its Next Level Development program the past two National Basketball League of Canada seasons. The Charlottetown resident has also coached at various levels in P.E.I. for the past decade, including with the University of Prince Edward Island's Men's and Women's basketball programs and the Men’s U17 Provincial Canada Games team.

“He has a great basketball mind and is someone whose opinion I value when it comes to decision-making and on-the-fly adjustments," said Salerno. "He is a coach I have been trying to get on our staff for some time now, so I am glad he was able to come on board for this season.”

Morrison is coming to the franchise after working for the Maine Red Claws of the NBA Developmental League for two years. While there, he served as the team's operations assistant and assistant video coordinator. He has also been an assistant coach for P.E.I.'s U15 and U17 provincial teams the past two summers.

The former Holland College player will be serving as the team's video coordinator, according to Salerno.

“Basketball is in his blood," said Salerno. "He is a young and ambitious coach."

Vidito and Morrison will make their NBLC coaching debuts on Dec. 26 when the Storm take on the Saint John Riptide.
